If you can't bring yourself to delete it (me included)

I found this neat trick to block it, so you can’t access it from your computer. Sure, you could always just unblock it, but hopefully this will at least help me cut back on the amount of time I spend on myspace.

so, do this:

Open Windows Explorer.

Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc.

Find the file named “HOSTS”.

Open the file in notepad.

Under “127.0.0.1 localhost” add 127.0.0.2 www.name_of_the_site_to block.com. So, if you’d like to block www.myspace.com, the code will look like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.2 www.myspace.com

Save the file, and it’s now blocked. For me I had to go in and re-do the code a couple of times before it worked, but it did in the end. You might also have to put a tab in between the numbers and the website, rather than just a space. Don’t worry, so far it hasn’t affected my PC in any other way. If you then want to unblock it (no! don’t do it!) you can just open the file again and delete “127.0.0.2 www.myspace.com”.

Good luck!
