Today I bought a new lingerie set and two briefs to match two bras I already have. Now I have 5 sets of practical and comfortable but beautiful and feminine lingerie which fits perfectly, all identical but in different colours (black, ivory, coffee, peach and red. Haven’t worn the red yet as it’s not really me but it was limited edition and one day I may be a red lingerie girl lol).
I’m calling this one done even though I still wear cotton things as nothing is shameful or tatty (just ordinary) and to be honest I don’t want to spend my time hand washing the pretty things every day! :)

this goal of mine has more cheers than “get a job”! Thanks everyone, it is a good boost. :)
You know what? Blow waiting to get a new job before buying more lingerie. I deserve it now!

I think this is a self esteem issue – I have nice things but still am not wearing them. I need to work on this as it is important to me even though it may seem frivolous and superficial.

Faded tatty scraps consigned to the textile recycling bag. Yeah!

I do have some nice things but don’t wear them every day. For some reason I’m still wearing the cotton ones from summer camp with my name sewn in! That is just ridiculous!
I know what fits and suits so that is easy, when I get a job I’m going to go and buy a ton more. I can’t justify the expense at the moment as in addition to the drawer of nice things, I do have a drawer full of perfectly servicable things but they definitely come under “practical” rather than “beautiful”.
From High Fidelity by Nick Hornby:
Women’s knickers were a terrible disappointment to me when I embarked on my co-habiting career. I never really recovered from the shock of discovering that women do what we do: they save their best pairs for the nights when they know they are going to sleep with somebody. When you live with a woman, these faded, shrunken tatty M&S scraps suddenly appear on radiators all over the house; your lascivious schoolboy dreams of adulthood as a time when you are surrounded by exotic lingerie for ever and ever amen… those dreams crumble to dust.
I am not that woman!!!! No faded tatty scraps for me, but then no exotic things either, just simple and beautiful ones.
