I’m in the Isle of Man with my parents at the moment and although it’s not on the beach, we are always 15 minutes maximum from the sea. I’ve been down to a lovely beach by a castle with my family on the night of Christmas Eve, and Christmas morning we sat on a beautiful pebble beach and enjoyed brandy coffees!
I’m off to New Zealand in January where I’m looking forward to some amazing coastal scenery and beaches, then Malaysia and Thailand where I’ll be seeking out more of the same. Hooray for the beach!

I lived for most of my teens on the Isle of Man. I think while I was there I never quite appreciated it enough. Often the way. Now thought, living in London, I miss the sea so much. The sound, the smell, the taste of the fresh air.
Some of my most beautiful recent seaside memories…
1- Christmas last year, on the beach at Laxey on christmas morning, just sitting and chilling with my family, drinking brandy coffee and gazing out at the brilliant play of sunshine on the sea.
2- April this year- California- stopping in the vicnity of 7 mile drive to play in the Atlantic- so beautiful and so powerful.
3- Durdle door, Dorset- my first glimpse and some time to play on the beach and collect seaglass and stones. Wonderful.
