I’ve been really enjoying listening to some classical indian music, as inspired by a conversation with a good friend in the midst of a huge drum and bass night!
I mentioned to him that I’d been enjoying some indian inspired new age ambient music and he said he preferred it in it’s pure form, I realised I’d never listened to it. It’s beautiful.
Highlights:
Shivkumar Sharma – Alap
Sarwar Sabri – Taal Bundu Khani
Ali Akbar Khan – Raga Ramdas Malhar
Anoushka Shankar – Raga Mishra Piloo (Live) full track

Rachmaninoff
Toru Takemitsu
Bach- Sheep may safely graze
Beethoven- Fur Elise
Brahms- Cradle Song
Edvard Gireg- Morning
Mozart- Requiem
Any recommended personal favourites welcome!

I’m listening to ‘Claude Debussy’s similar artists’ on last fm. A great resource for meandering musical exploration.
Classical at work is a good look. I love Drum and Bass but it doesn’t quiet the mind so much! At least not for me.
