Pratice my talents more often

I have joined a website for writers. It’s all just a lot of fanfiction (stories that are written by the fans of a show/book/movie/game featuring the characters) but it really helps relieve my need to write.

The site is actually really cool. Writers from all over the world send in their stories for anyone to read and review. I have posted four stories, one of which is complete, and I have already gotten quite a few reviews.

Everyone seems to love my writing and enjoy my creative view on the subjects. I’ve never really been proud of my writing before this but now I feel a lot more confident in my work. Nothing like a good review to boost my spirits!

Growing up I’ve always been told I have a real talent for art and writing. My sister has an amazing talent for writing much better then me. I guess she and I have our parents to thank for that. Lately I’ve haven’t been practicing my talent for art and writing as much as I used to.

My instructor often says “artists and writers have no need for a 9 to 5 job because they work when the mood strikes them. They can write or paint for hours and then not do a thing for months.”

This is absolutely true. The last time I sat down and worked and work for hours on end was months ago. But since then I haven’t had the time to practice. Inspiration is all around me and I don’t have anything to capture it, what a shame.
