become better at small-talk

I feel so awkward around strangers sometimes. Especially ones who seem intimidating – they could be either good looking or super smart or funny, etc. I find myself incapable of having a conversation with any girls around my age. They are either boring/uninteresting or intimidating. I tend to watch what I say so I won’t say anything that may creep the person out. I think fear is what keeps me from holding a pleasant conversation with almost anyone. I think I am okay talking to guys though; they are guys and they don’t care anyways. I am good at talking to adults though; you just need to be polite and sometimes corny. Teenagers are hard…

I talked to D today. We had a super interesting conversation. The first time I talked to him, I complimented him on his beautiful classy white shoes (so classy!). Our first conversation was weird and awkward. He comes on a bit strong. Today, I decided to talk to him and it was really cool. He’s got a sense of humor I could definitely get used to. He swears and it’s so cute. He drives! Yeaaa’ we totally hit it off.

I have learned more about D from a 15 minute conversation than I have of M from knowing him for 6 days. (M is the one who needs to be in here…??!)

I’m telling ya, I have no problem talking to guys (or girls) younger than me. If they are older than me and good looking I’m so intimidated =/

At the end of D and mine’s convo, I said, “It was nice talking to you.” And it really was. I meant that and it was genuine and unforced :)
I’m looking foward to talking to D again next Saturday after class.

M is so shy, I swear. Is he shy or is he BORING?
No one who loves The Brave Little Toaster can be boring!
Everytime we talk, there’s these damn awkward pauses in the conversation. I need to get him to open up, and I need to help myself in finding things to talk about – with anyone in general really, not just M.
