get my house clean

I’m getting so close to being done! I am ecstatic! Every room in the house is “clean”. I still need to scrub woodwork, & vacuum the ceiling, etc., but it’s looking great. Whoot!

I don’t think it’ll take until the deadline to finish it. Then, I’ll be moving on to keeping it clean, while painting and such. With 2 little rambunctious boys underfoot, it’ll be quite a challenge. But we need to move, so I am highly motivated.

I finally got the boys’ room under control. I have several bags of clothes to give to Goodwill, but beyond that, it’s “done”. I still need to go through and pack away their toys into storage to put the house up for sale, but that doesn’t fall under the heading of cleaning. So, I feel pretty good about my progress.

The rest of the house is cluttery, but not bad. I believe this goal is do-able.

I don’t feel like I got much done, but I sure was working hard yesterday. I had to help my hubby move firewood, but that would need to be done before the house could up for sale anyway, so I’m not complaining. I kept up on the kitchen, even cleaning the cabinet doors with rubbing alcohol (no, they’re not wood). I did laundry, and other “maintain the status quo” things to keep the house from sliding backwards. The biggest thing I did was tackle the boys’ room. I hung innumerable shirts and pants and sorted out season clothes to put away and clothes to give away. They have WAY too much stuff.

I’ve started the countdown. I need/want to move to Tennessee, and have a new/different/better life there, but I cannot do that while my house is messy.

I’ve made a lot of progress, including de-cluttering a lot, but my sons’ room still looks like a tornado went through it, and the rest of the house still has de-cluttering to be done.

I’ve given a ton of stuff to charity, but I’ve kept some things which were either valuable or new, or both, to sell on eBay to try and get some money from it.

So, my challenge to myself, is that I will either get this house under control and cleaned by May 1st, or I will just haul all that stuff to Goodwill and be done with it, taking a serious loss.
