Okay, so I’m working on the revision… err, I guess I’m taking a break from the revision to blog. I’m almost to the end with the blue pencilling grins which means a million more things to do.
But, I’ve gotten it into my head that now might be the time to start looking into agents and publishers. Both DAW and Tor books accept unsolicited manuscripts (my novel is apocalyptic fantasy, which to my mind sounds like an oxymoron, but genre names, huh?) and I stumbled across AgentQuery.com today or last night, I’m not sure I went to the store and came back to the computer and noticed this random window. I must’ve followed the link from NaNoPubYe.
At any rate, I am excited to be pursuing my dreams like this. Now, if only I could choose subgenres on that sites search engines it’d make me happier.
That and I’m thinking I should start working on a query letter and a synopses and a cover letter.

wow, I just had my MS printed, and it was 474 sheets… with extra wide margins for editing purposes, but still… I am excited, I’m going to start editing now. It’s in a nice heavy box right now and well, I haven’t looked at this MS in a year, since I wrote it last January. It’s not as bad as I expected it to be. Actually, its surprisingly good.
And now, to the editingmobile batman

I just wrote the rough draft of my second novel… Reached the end last night, but there’s a whole chunk I want to finish before I get started on editing the other rough draft that I have.
Once I get this whole editing thing going, well shoot, then after I get it all edited and revised, maybe I can start querying agents and publishers. You know, DAW takes unsolicited unagented manuscripts.
oh the humanity i just might wind up a published author after all.
grins

Okay, so I’ve signed myself up for NaNoWriYe (again) and JanNoWriMo (again).
Last year for WriYe, I fell far short of my goal, this year, I can write 500 words a day for the rest of the year and all is good.
I haven’t edited my story for last year’s JanNoWriMo yet (that is officially my project for February), but I’m looking forwards to it and the rough draft of this one seems to be well underway.
I just have to take good care of my wrists this year, and work on that whole editing and looking for an agent (post-edit) thing.

Crash and burn? I need to write. I’ve got one week left and 29k to go. Argh! 29k by seven… anyone? something like 4k a day? sigh
must write now.
Happy turkey day if you’re into that kinda thing :-)
edit: oh, hah, i can divide, but i can do simple addition/subtraction. 19k by seven, just under three k a day. much more survivable. Silly me didn’t write at all yesterday.

You know, that whole editing thing is important. i’m working on my second wrimo this year. i did one in january and have a very very rough manuscript, and well… i haven’t even opened the file since january 31st.
i can’t seem to make myself read it. i guess i’m ashamed to see how bad it is. but this one i think might turn out better. we’ll see.
i’m workign on the getting it written part again anyway.
