I went here;

and participated in their Back to Brew School.
We were given some parameters, and made our own beer recipe. I need to return in 2 weeks for bottling.
Woot!

My buddy made some reservations for us for Saturday. So, if all goes well, I’ll have brewed my own beer by 3pm on Saturday!
I acquired some used brewing equipment this weekend. I’m one step closer to being able to brew my own beer. I’m thinking of trying to do this before thanksgiving, so that I can offer (crickets) some of my own home brew. Since no one in my family actually likes microbrew this might be a hard task.
Anyways. Next up, get a keg setup, and sterilize my setup.
He’s a brewer, so, It might be something we end up doing together. We’ll see.

Supposedly they are great, and highly focused on making good product, and sterilization. Good to know.
I can’t wait to give it a shot, just need to make arrangements to do it.

appearantly the brew house has some sort of sterilization issue. I guess the last few batches my buddies have gotten made there went bad. So… I’m going to have to do this at home. There are a few guys who have setups and have mentioned hosting a brewing day. It’s something I’d perfer since I’ve never done it.

I’m going to try to go here in the comming month. I’ve got a bunch of friends who go regularly. I think this would be well worth it, and a good place to start my brewing career.

Not because I don’t want to, or don’t have the skills. I don’t have the materials, or the ability to drink much beer these days. I’m doing a pretty exercise / eating program in order to get into shape. I’ve got free days, but I may drink a single beer on those days, but I haven’t every time. So, it’s pretty unreasonable for me to brew a whole batch at this time… Maybe some time in the future, but just not now.
:(
Who doesn’t want that… Actually I know and understand that its’ actually more expensive, and more labor intensive, but who doesn’ want their very one beer. Since my favorite beer is new castle, my first batch will be a nut brown, hopefully with a bitchin’ head. But I know that’s a hard feat. Since I’m reasonalby adapt at cooking it shouldn’t be to hard of a task.
