Is it true that I haven’t watched a movie in 4 months? Probably not, but possible. It’s more probably that I forgot to mention them, and completely forgot what they were, as well. Plus, lately I’ve been binging on streaming episodes of the L Word (I’m so ashamed), but I’m happy to report that I’m down to the last three episodes and soon the curse will be broken. So for 2011: more movies! I hate that I forget that movies exist and I want to watch more.

Viewed on my television, thanks to the library!
Oh man. Just… oh man. Flat characters, painful dialogue and accents. The only saving graces of this movie are hot Nathan Fillion and funny Andy Griffith, but it wasn’t enough, by a long shot. This movie was so bad that it upset me. Also, I don’t like movies where it’s basically okay to have an affair because your husband is a terrible, one note baby. Though I would probably jump on Nathan Fillion, too.

It’s just not been good watching for me lately. Nothing has really grabbed me. I feel like a movie that involves Flamenco dancing should get a good reaction from me, and I love some of Saura’s other work, but this just left me cold. Bummer.

This is a classic, right? It was fun to see San Francisco in a different era, but vigilante justice just isn’t my thing. “Shoot first, ask questions later” kind of chaps my hide. I guess I’m just a procedural girl, I’ll go back to my “Law & Order” and leave movies like this to my boyfriend.

I liked it, I didn’t love it. It was beautiful to watch, and it secured my crush on JGL. There just wasn’t ENOUGH mind-twisting, and I don’t think it’s something I’ll want to watch again, though I am enjoying reading theories about the movie.

- Side note: I wish I remembered to go to theaters more. I really enjoy the experience. If the audience is polite, and there are no children. Or cell phones. Okay, now I remember why I don’t go to the theater more.

You know, for a movie named CAMP, there was a SEVERE lack of camp. Incomplete story lines, some seriously stilted acting, and songs that kind of made me roll my eyes. Disappointing.

Adaptations of books are always tough – there’s so much that has to be cut out, and it can weaken the story. They kept much of the important bits, and it was expertly cast, and I was entertained. I was warned about the violence, but compared to the book, I thought it was super tame.

Eh. I’m tired of movies about how hard it is to be a bored rich housewife. While beautifully shot, it was slow and none of the characters were sympathetic. Tilda Swinton is beautiful. Just thought I’d add that.

Oh so charming. Very typical Jeunet, and I happen to like that. Not necessarily the strongest plot, but a very enjoyable experience.

I’m not sure if this should count, since I’ve seen it before, but it’s been at least 10 if not 15 years since I’ve seen it. It has completely held up and I still love it to death. Quirky without being cutesy. And the soundtrack. Sigh. So great.
