I have an opportunity on the third Friday of every month to dance in Felton, outside Santa Cruz. My flamenco teacher has a regular gig there, at Don Quixote’s. I performed with her there in November, and have managed to miss every month since, due to my knuckleheadness. This month, for example, I have plans to go to the symphony. So I’ve made sure to keep APRIL 20th clear. So I can dance. I’m hoping for a whole dance of my own, since most other performances I’ve been in have just been for a letra or so, and then a finale with others.
Yes, technically I had a solo with the Flamenco Society last year, but that was most certainly a work-in-progress, and frankly, not my best work. Plus, the Felton gig is a professional show, not just a student showcase. I have my fingers crossed!
