become fluent in spanish

Next winter I am planning on going to Argentina…for a year! Well, two semesters, which equals nine months. And after that, who knows?Seriously,I might WWOOf down there and defer from UMass for a semester (or indefinitely?) Maybe transfer to a school down there. or maybe come back to Massachusetts and be so grateful to be there.
Staying down there for a year means fluency!

Well, I officially passed my first spanish class in college (300 level, doncha know!). So I’m on my wayyy, yayyyy.

And maybe next year for the spring semester I can go to Oviedo from jan-May….that would be lovely.

I am thinking the Oviedo program. yeah!

My professor is going to be so hard, but amazing to learn from. I am so nervous!

I am absolutely going to read a book in spanish. And amke an effort to see more movies in Spanish. it has helped with French, just understanding the general intonation and such. A dear “old lady” friend of mine and former french teacher (and resident of France for 20 years!) told me that watching movies in French will absolutely help with picking up certain words and phrases, accent, and intonation. But she said that immersion is really the only way to learn. Which I knew already. Doesn’t everyone know that though? To really learn you need to speak it and hear it all the time.

I had a dream in spanish!!!! AAHHHH! This is so great.

I have taken it for eight years in school, but what have I learned? Not alot. It’s just so frustrating!
