I’ve started listening to one DVD a week. It’s all I can handle right now and I figure its better than nothing.
It’s already changed my perspective on anxiety and life. Something huge that I’ve learned is this:
“We often want to run to our safe place when overwhelmed or in a socially awkward situation. Whether it be home, your car, your spouse. What you need to realize is that there is no safe place. There is no safe person. Except for you. You are your own safe person.”
Somehow that helps me. That, and taking deep breaths when I feel panicked. I’ve been allowing myself to feel nervous, afraid, anxious, awkward. I just tell myself “It’s okay, its just anxiety, and it will eventually pass and go away.” And it does.
