Since this is a college town, the nearest Catholic church is pretty laid-back with a lot of young people in it. The priest is wonderful. I’ve met him once and been to Mass once, and to be honest, I don’t know why I didn’t go back. So I think I’m going to try that out this weekend and see if I feel at home there. I want a church where I feel at home. It’s not far from where I live. There’s another Catholic church across town that is just beautiful, but it’s across town.
I also need to see if my friends who are trying to be more spiritual still want me to take them up on the offer to go to one of the Baptist churches with them.

My beliefs just don’t seem to fit in one faith. Either that or I’m so unsure of what my beliefs really are (other than the obvious…I do consider myself a Christian because I believe in the Christian God and in Jesus Christ as the Messiah).
The other night I was with my friend at her boyfriend’s house, and I was reading some of his mom’s Jehovah’s Witness literature. I never really knew much about Jehovah’s Witnesses except they don’t celebrate holidays and like to pass out literature door-to-door, so to be honest I always thought they were kind of weird. Well, I talked to my friend’s boyfriend a lot, just asking him questions and such, and their beliefs actually make sense. I don’t entirely agree, but I see where they’re coming from. So I guess the lesson I’ve learned is not to judge other faiths for being different before I really know all the facts.
I still need to figure out my own spirituality before I even think about joining a church.

I was raised Catholic, although my dad and his family are Presbyterian. My extended family is everything from Episcopalian to Primitive Southern Baptist to Jewish.
I spent eighteen years in the Catholic faith before I started exploring different religions a little bit.
I’m 99.9% sure I am and will always be a Christian because of my belief in Jesus Christ as my Savior. What denomination is up for grabs right now.
I was going to a non-denominational church that I loved, but it was really far away and hard to get a ride. Just recently I discovered that they’ve moved and are now much closer. Still a little over a mile away, but they aren’t much further than my work, and I walk to work. I love the Catholic church here, too, although I grew up Catholic and would like to see what other faiths are like. There’s an Orthodox church nearby as well, and I’ve always been curious about that faith. I’ve been to a Presbyterian church with a friend (in addition to my sister’s wedding, but I was like six then) and really liked the service.
I’ve also heard that I would like the Methodist church, and I’m willing to give it a try. I’ll go to just about any church where they don’t have snakes and strychnine at least once.
