1) He knows what I like and is constantly getting me tiny little presents. I’m currently wraped in my fuzzy blanket, wearing my sock monkey slippers. How cozy.
2) Our fireplace. It’s our day off and there’s a windstorm out there, so we’re cuddled up by the fire. No t.v., just sitting together reading by the fire. There truly is something special about this…it feels like home.
3) Our neighborhood store. It’s run by the cutest old gay couple in the world. They keep our favorite items stocked up, and whenever I go there alone and wind up getting too much stuff, they even offer to walk it home with me. How sweet :)
4) All of our pressing needs are tended to. We have food, shelter, each other. I don’t think it gets better than the basics.
5) Getting sucked in to a really good book. I read two entire books yesterday because I simply could not put them down. It’s hit and miss when you pick random stuff up from Powell’s, but I’ve been so lucky lately. I haven’t had that feeling in a while, and it’s so nice to know that I haven’t already read every book worth reading. Hooray.

1) What takes place after the argument is over. This includes; sex, presents (both giving, and recieving…take that however you wish), and being more grateful for our relationship.
2) Having a job. Even if I don’t love it, things could be a whole lot worse.
3) Cute stationary sets. They inspire me to write letters to my friends.
4) One good pair of shoes. My hubby got these for me. They were a little expensive, but they cushion all the important parts of my feet so standing all day isn’t such a disaster.
5) A clean house. When that happens. Which isn’t very often. Hooray!!
I have been slacking lately. I suppose I could give the generic excuse of “I’ve been busy,” but we’re all busy these days…so I’ll just settle with I haven’t bothered to make time for these important little things lately. It’s all changing though. So;
1)methadone.
2)having a steady job, even if I work over fifty hours a week, at least I have money and my shit together unlike many other people
3)Him, without whom I wouldn’t exist.
4)My great friendship with my father, without whom I would also not exist. He is a truly amazing man, and I am so lucky that he raised me, somehow, all on his own.
5)Getting in touch with old friends thus ending the great hermitage once and for all :)
Seeing as it is now 12:07 A.M. and technically a new day, I am going to jump the gun a little and write ANOTHER entry about my day, and all that I’m thankful for
1) Getting over the guilt and just spoiling myself. I bought new striped red and white socks, thigh high large squared fishnets, Courtney Love’s memoires, a book called “Nina,” by the one and only Blag Dahlia, cute flipflops, and a truly great journal for writing, sketching, and collages.
2) My boyfriend is the one who encouraged me to get out and spoil myself. We went to Hawthorne and had a lovely evening.
3) Black bean and pepperjack cheese burritos.
4) Our incredible digital camera. I never thought I’d enjoy having anything but an old school 35mm, or even my polaroid spectra, but this camera is truly wonderful to carry around.
5) I slept in today, and sun actually made an appearance. YAY!!
Spring is drawing nearer still, and I hope it finds you all well.
Love,
Madras
1) I live at the foot of Mt.Tabor and can go play in the park whenever I feel like
2) My aunt and uncle have asked us to housesit and I think this is just the little vacation we need. They have a jacuzzi tub, a big screen t.v., and two of the coolest puppies in the world. They live right on the other side of Mt.Tabor, and have a beautiful view of tree groves and rose bushes
3) My house is really clean, and we recently re-organized so every room feels brand new
4) The medication I’m taking isn’t making me nearly as sick as it did last time, and it’s even cleared my skin up and made my boobies a little bigger :)
5) I have, over the years, collected some really bad ass friends that are always there when I need them. Liz and I have now know each other for sixteen years, which never ceases to amaze me
1) Apple strudel pop tarts. I just tried for the first time, and YUM!!
2) Vacuum cleaners, when they decide to work.
3) Fresh pot of really good coffee, and fresh cream.
4) Recieving post cards unexpectedly.
5) My tiny, super efficient, little red car, Cleofryd.
1) I have good strong legs that can, and do walk me everywhere so I don’t have to use public transport much.
2) I live right next to a large asian grocery store that sells yummy red bean cakes and Thai iced tea.
3) I have the best boyfriend ever, hands down, bar none.
4) Dancing.
5) My guitar, Seymore Glass.
