Evening Prayer as a family and Compline at bedtime, indeed happens more often than not these days.
Unfortunately it’s Year Two which means I still get no Gospel reading unless I manage Morning Prayer! So much harder!!

Current goal: Evening Prayer as a family more evenings than not in a given week. So that’d be four evenings a week.
Compline to follow.
well, the beginning of Advent and the new church year is not a bad time to start again.
I thought of it early & suggested it instead of waiting till bedtime when I am dragged away from whatever I’m doing, grumbling. I like it much better earlier and would like it more at actual sunset, early as that may get to be this winter. Evening prayer early enough (before supper?) would make more sense and would leave room for Compline, which is really the bedtime one & which I like the most.
One thing at a time.
on retreat this weekend reminded me how peaceful and restorative the Office can be.
I used to have this habit.
Evening Prayer first, then when I’ve got that in place I’ll add Morning Prayer.
Okay I will not go two nights in a row without Evening Prayer in November. That’s a doable goal.
