I’ve enrolled in an evening German class that begins tonight!
The class is taught twice a week from now til the end of August at a language academy which is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from my home.
I’ve got the textbook and materials and I’m just giddy with excitement to have some formal instruction on this. Oh yes!

I’m working on this goal:
I’m subscribed to two daily learn-German podcasts. One is with a Scottish lady with a thick Scots accent. The other is with a German man living abroad in Switzerland, and he has a funny and stereotypical German accent.
I listen to the first one mostly only because I love to listen to her amazing Scots accent. But I’m not learning any new phrases or vocabulary. Boo. The second one is much better, more challenging, with a better pace. I find it has a good approach to teaching.
I also got some audiobooks of familiar fairytales read in German. (My favorite so far has been the tale of the Froschkönig.) Listening to the language spoken, without being able to stop to look up vocabulary or grammar, is very useful. The brain loves to decipher.
