list 43 things I like

It doesn’t matter hwo old you are, there’s an excitement like no other leading up to Christmas. A magical time of the year !!

Guess its a little unusual for a guy to like flowers so much and maybe its driven by my photography. Bought myself some tulips at the weekend. Initially to photograph but also to brighten the place up.

It so easy to do, there are some fabulous recipes but best of all is the fact you can just chuck whatever you have in a pan and cook it up. My fav soup to make is Turkey Soup, full of winter vegetables and of course left over turkey. Add a dash of sherry/double cream, serve with with crusty bread and it makes a meal in itself.

In many ways 43things is like a soap opera … you can miss it for a few days but with a bit of effort its not too difficult to cath up lol. Sat morning is always good for that. Flirt and the rest of the guys in the USA are sleeping. LL is normally in some cafe drinking wine. Jiji will join me in her sleepy head in an hour or so. Benji has just logged in. Cookie … who knows where Cookie is !!

Every now I then I hook up with Jiana on a Saturday morning through MSN. She always makes me smile, although most of the time she teases me. She’s a fabulous girl every day but even more special on a Saturday.

The Midland Hotel in Manchester is such a fabulous place, I love staying there. It is steeped in history and has big wide, long corridors off of which are the bedrooms. Along the corridor walls are frames containing letters sent to the hotel from numerous guests, many of which were found in the loft when it was renovated a few years back.

They make fascinating reading and each letter is scrapbooked in the frame along with relevant embellishments. This week I found one I had never read before. It was written in 1966 the week after England won the World Cup. It was apologising for boyish, boistrous behaviour and offering to pay for the damage caused. It was written in the style of a real gentleman and left me imaging what on earth him and his friends had done. No doubt large amounts of alcohol were involved.

One more fact about the Midland Hotel … a certain Mr Rolls met a certain Mr Royce there. The rest as they say is history !!

I love going to places I’ve never been before and just wandering around.

I love to look, I love to learn, I love to explore !!

28) Walking along the beach

I could walk for miles, find it so relaxing. Love the feel of the sand and sea on my feet. Day is good but nightime can be better. Few weeks ago I walked along Torbay beach at midnight with a full moon and the stars shining down upon me. Wow it was fabulous.

29) Saying “Good Morning”

It costs nothing to do but amazes me at times how so many people can just walk by without even acknowledging you. Work is worse and especially the guy on the reception desk. I always say good morning, talk to him, ask him how he is. So many people just pass on by.

Dunno wot made me think of this but there is nothing better than getting into bed when you got crisp clean sheets. Does anyone else feel like that ?

I like the fact that I have the ability to burn myself out both physically and emotionally. Why ?? Because I bounce back even stronger and more determined than ever.
