Yes, I’m still working on this. Now shush because that’s not why I’m writing. Would someone PLEASE tell my why some people feel the need to make sure people reading the book know it’s fiction? I work with someone who is very religious and when she saw me reading it felt the need to point out the book is fiction. I told her “I know, my first clue was the word ‘fiction’ on the spine.” That was when I first started the book. Today, someone saw me sitting in the attrium at work and asked me what I thought of the book, then after I replied said, you guessed it, “it’s fiction, you know.”
I realize a lot of people have a problem with the concept of the book, but you know what? It’s really insulting when you feel the need to remind people of something they already know. It may make you and your spirituality feel better and reassured, but it pisses a lot of us off. You’re not a great defender of your faith nor are you part of some holy army protecting your beliefs against slanderous literature. You’re just being annoying. Shut up, go away and let me read my damn book.
