Runner’s World (Jan. 2007, page 77) lists the Paris Marathon as one of six that a runner must try before dying. The others are Boston, London, Chicago, D.C. and New York.
The monster moniker is based on the number of runners. Paris, with 35,000 participants is one of the biggest but doesn’t beat Chi-Town with its 40,000 runners trying to make PR on the flat course.
I’m scared. I thought this would be a spring saunter around the Eiffel Tower with wine as a post-race treat.

...as I’m pretty sure I can no longer pass for a six-year-old.
Since the news today says that Canadian demand for passport renewal is at an all-time high, I figure if I get it done now I won’t be worrying about it during the winter/spring.
It’s on the TO DO list for next week.

...because how can I refuse actually mixing business with pleasure? Hmm, can one call running for four hours “pleasure?”
My worries aren’t financial as I can save up but rather physical as this’ll be my first marathon and I will be training over the winter.
I’m looking forward to this!
