For years, I kept the tv’s TURNED ON in all of the rooms of our house, 24/7. Each one turned to a different news channel. Guess why.
When the first baby came, I turned them all OFF. For about a year.
Then we moved to videos…then Sesame St….then…The Wiggles….all that.
Noggin, PBS, all I watched for years with the kids.
Then I started watching movies…lots and lots of movies….at night with the husband.
Then LOST.
But no news. I didn’t want that in my house. It was bad for my health, to be sure. I do better reading the papers, or hearing the stories from a friend or neighbor.
But, thanks to Obama/Clinton….I’m watching the news again with hope, and excitement and anticipation.
I know it’s still cheap entertainment….everything is so spun and hyped….however….
I like a feel-good family movie better than a horror film any day.

a show about how children’s brains develop (flipping between that and a horrifying show about Britney Spears. She was committed…what? That made me want to cry.} and I am so addicted to the dumb tv tabloid shows. Ugh….at least I was on the treadmill so I didn’t feel too guilty.
Mr. Meticulous watched football.
The kids watched a half hour of PBS while I got ready for church.
OH…AND A WHOLE MOVIE. I forgot about that.
Not such a bad day.

the addition of a big flat screen tv that was placed as the focal point of our living area (picture me putting my foot down, yet completely losing this battle) and new sattelite and all the bells and whistles programming packages coincides with my dramatic weight gain of 2007.
Interesting!! We hadn’t had a new tv in almost 15 years together until this baby arrived. Never had movie channels either.
This thing is on almost 24/7….yeeccchh. Interestingly enough, I can’t even remember one show from yesterday.
