I think I actually gained a little weight since I set this goal, so maybe my real goal is to lose more like 18 lbs—we’ll see. At any rate, I have lost 10 lbs. since my peak somewhere around Christmas. Those extra pounds were basically from being incredibly sedentary and eating takeout food almost every night, so I suspect the additional 5-10 lbs I’d like to lose will require a little more diligence, but I’m definitely up for it now that I’ve seen I can start losing weight :)

I have 1.5 boxes of girl scout cookies in the apartment (I’ve already eaten 2.5 boxes!) and have concluded that in order to get started on eating more healthily asap, I need to just throw them out, so I’ll bite the bullet and do it.
The funny thing is that I actually bought them to share with people at work, but then I was laid off before I received the cookies. And I’ve had a broken foot, so I haven’t been able to really get out and see (and maybe pawn the cookies off on!) other people. So the combination of no job, the injury, and wanting to be more healthy/get exercise has been pretty depressing. Getting rid of the junk in the house will hopefully be a good first step :)
