Hopefully this time it sticks! 1 month ago

I just bought To Do Post-it note pads—they have enough space to write down a decent to-do list and are pre-numbered, but they’re not long enough to get out of control or be too unwieldy. I’m going to write my list every night before bed, and then stick it next to my keys so I see it in the morning. Hopefully if I start getting a few more things done each day I’ll be less stressed out and more organized in general :)

I remember reading something by Ben Franklin that was along the lines—just think about how great even the worst of us would be after 20 years if we got rid of just one bad habit or cultivated a good one every year

So rather than focus on my entire jumbled list all at once, I’m going to try to concentrate on one of the habit thingies at a time—say for 6 wks, until I get it down.

the to-do list is the first thing, so that’ll be my focus. this is convenient b/c where space permits i can sneak in some of my other things, like exercise or writing.

mandarcat: 1 to-do list: 0 3 years ago

so I started with the first thing on my LIST today—making a to do list at night and doing everything on it the next day and I made it

i made the list on a post-it note so it wouldn’t get out of hand—12 items in all for today—and I finished by 3pm

I really think the list and the goal helped b/c I really wanted to quit and put some things off more (I hate making phone calls, which was required for half the things), but the fact that getting through my to-do list was sort of the one thing I had to do today helped me be more disciplined.

Once I can do this for a whole month I’ll consider it a habit incorporated.
