is scary. I swam about 150 yards in donner lake on saturday…it was cold…my breathing became a bit more labored than I expected…I backfloated and recovered however…I need to jump in and do this more often so I am more prepared for this type of swimming…the swimming pool with 80 degree water is more like bathing than swimming…so anyway, a paddling teammate of mine suggested we swim before or after every practice, purpose being preparation for possible huli in SF Bay or other cold ocean environment, but this will work out well for beginning triathlon swimming practice too….

In my present state this goal is a lofty one, however, I must take one step at a time, and those first steps are being taken…swimming everyday…some tae bo…paddling… my bike is currently out of commision, and I do not enjoy running…first next step is to get my bike to the shop and get it on the road again (with a kiddie trailer in tow…)....and I suppose I’ll run at some point – I will I will I will -
