Seem to be in pretty good shape and am still in habit of buying something every week or so just so I don’t have to go on a crazy spending spree after I get desperate. I think I might need a few more work tops, and then I might need to think abt some non-work clothes. Should prolly declutter a little bit in the pajama/sweats department, too. Hubby would def like that.

I went to Las Vegas this weekend – I always seem to have good luck shopping there. And I’m glad, because I’m not into gambling so at least this way i can still have a good time. So I got an amazing trench coat for an amazing price, plus a new suit. goodie.
Bought a new sweater last weekend and a couple of new sweaters last night, plus some adorable everyday gold earrings. Fun. Now I think I’m going to check on this sweet pair of shoes.
I’m trying to add a little something to my wardrobe on a weekly basis, whether it’s a basic item like black pants I can wear to work, or a fanciful pair of shoes. I have to chip away at all these maintenance goals regularly, or they can get away from me! I think in a few hours we’re going to go see what we can treat ourselves to at American Apparel… fun! I don’t think shopping comes naturally to me, so I am grateful that my husband is good at it :)
I ended up using some of the thrift store stuff unexpectedly, which was great, and got quite a few compliments on it!
Also, got 2 new pairs of shoes, one of which will replace another pair that I have needed to get rid of for ages. The originals were on sale for about $25 and the replacements were on sale for $28, 5.5 years later. Even if neither pair overwhelms me with originality, the new ones are presentable, handy and affordable, and deserve a place in my closet.
My husband had a good point about the shoes I like. I shouldn’t keep myself from buying two pairs of shoes that are similar just because they are similar. I am inclined to buy both because they are shoes I like, and like he says, I’m gonna keep walking whether the shoes wear out or not. So might as well have an alternative pair to take some of the beating from my feet!
just buying a bunch of stuff online, trying it on at home, and returning anything that doesn’t fit directly to the store…
We went shopping at this HUGE thrift store today. Wow. We were going for my husband to get a little sportscoat of some kind, and we ended up both getting a ton of stuff!
Him:
1 Sportscoat
2 dress shirts
1 t shirt
1 casual jacket
1 sweatshirt
Me:
2 work jacket/blazers
1 vintage I. Magnin winter coat
1 adorable skirt
1 necklace
all for $57!
I am supposed to go shopping with a friend tomorrow and I am tempted to suggest we go back to the thrift store, but we’re probably better off going somewhere where everything isn’t covered with an inch of dust… heheh.
I am regretting the fact that I have done so little shopping in the past year! I am changing jobs, and I think the attire may be a little dressier at the new place, so I am at a little bit of a loss with my current wardrobe! Eek! Oh well. I guess I could start by cleaning out my closet this morning and inventorying what I have. Trying some stuff on, etc. I’m not really ever in the mood for that, but it’s work that has to be done, I guess. So much more fun to binge on current events, piano, etc. alas!
