get a driving license

Well, my calendar is starting to remind me that I had promised myself to do it in the beginning of the year, when my amount of work will lower and I will have more time to focus in these kind of things.

So, time to make a plan for it…although…hey, don’t take it as an excuse for avoid confronting my fears (another big goal I have), but I think I’m gonna leave it for the last part of the season, in june and july. Those are the months where I have less work and it will definetely be a good idea to do it while I have my mind “only” in this goal. So, it’s a deal. On Mai I start planning it and I do it on June. :-D

3, 2, 1, seatbelt..on…lights…shining bright…ignition!

I did it! I drove for the first time in my life!

Unexpectedly, my cousins proposed me to take my first unofficial driving lesson in an empty and solitaire parking lot.
They teached me the basics, the pedals, the gears aaaand…here I went, riding slower than a snail, on the cold asfalt of Tarragona.

Well, true, I shouldn’t call that “driving” (no cars, no people I can run over) but man, that feeling…the world rolling under my wheels.

Funny when, as they were teaching me how to park, a police car passed by staring at our strange behaviour. My cousins asked me nervously to park it fast and easy and…I did it! No one got hurt, no one ended up in jail so I can be proud of myself :-)

So, next step? Keep practicing in those conditions so I can start taking “real” classes with more self-confidence.

Ok, one mor estep in the right direction. I got the word from my cousine’s husband that he will teach me some free lessons before I start taking classes. This way it will be easier and cheaper!

Well, the first step of the plan was done today, at 1:00 PM. I asked a couple of driving schools for the prices. Quite expensive, as I expected. And having in mind that, being in September, they have a few good offers. But even with that, no less than 600€ :-(

Well, I think I’ll have to start a new goal on 43things, because many of the goals I already have needs a lot of money. The new goal should be, “earn more money / spend less” :-D

As we say in catalan, “At least I know the disease that’s gonna kill me!” :-)

Ok, so the plan is set up. When I come back from our holidays I hope I have enough money to, first of all, survive :-), after that buying a laptop and then, get my driving license.
If my calculations are not wrong, I think that January will be a great moment to start taking classes and try to get it as fast as possible.
Then, when I have my license, I’ll manage to loan a car every now and then to make short weekend rides and so be able to practice.

As you can see…everything is planned! :-)

Well, to day I wanted to start the plan to achieve this goal. I went to the street and walked to the driving school in the ‘hood to ask for some prices information. And you know what? It was closed :-(
mmm…Is will against me? Will the driving school be closed everytime I want to join it? mmm…don’t think so. Im tougher thant my own will :-)

I’ll give it a try tomorrow :-)

Be aware, I’m on my way to drive a car. I’m dangerous and I will be armed! :-)

I just want to know how to drive a car so I can use it in my travels (check my list of goals to find one that definetely needs this goal to be achieved).

Plus, I already have the driving license for motorbikes, so it musn’t be very hard.
The only problem here is the money!
