Getting better and better (but where is the end?) 9 months ago

Maybe it’s silly, but I cannot fight for a goal which has no specific end for me.
Ok, I want to MAKE NEW FRIENDS, that’s clear, but when will it be enough?
What’s fun about goals is that, sometimes, when you start walking the path, the way to measure them gets much clearer than when you hadn’t started. Just an example: This goal, “Make new friends” seems to have no end. I mean that I could go on and on, making lots of new friends, and never be satisfied. But that’s not true. While I walked this path I realized that my goal was not to make new friends but to have the sensation of “Being able to socialize, more often and better”. That should be my goal.

- Not being affraid of meeting someone you barely know…Done
- Be able to feel free and amuse myself in the middle of a crowd…Done
- Not let my shyness ruin my social events…Done
- Be able to cheer up a meeting full of shy people…Done
- etc.

So…I could say that I’m almost there! I think I’ve done it. Nevertheless, I just don’t want to mark this goal as “Done”, mostly for two reasons:
1- I don’t want to think it’s done just because I have the feeling. I don’t wanna rush, here (it may ruin all the effort)
2- I still feel that I need to be a little more secure when it comes to meet new people. I still hesitate a lot and let my insecurities influence my decisions.

When I have the feeling that these two aspects are covered, then and only then I’ll be satisfied.

I am very happy though, when I look back at the long road I travelled to get here.

Recycling friends 11 months ago

Well, it’s an alternative, right? Why not? Facebook and other 2.0 social communities are helping a lot finding old friends from school, college or university, so…

This week I had the chance to meet again three of my best classmates from my college, 17 years back in time and it was great. The big deal with them is to transform our relationship from a remember-the-old-times one to a fresh new one, with new interests, new subjects and new jokes. In the end it’s all about creating brand new memories, not re-using the old ones.

more friends! 15 months ago

The truth is that I’m going fast with this goal, faster than ever before (and this is a very, very old goal to me).

Blame it on the 2.0 tools like Twitter or Facebook, blame it to my German courses, or even, why not, blame me for being soooo nice with people (hehehe, just joking), but lately I’m knowing more people than ever and discovering that many of them are great people to share thoughts and experiences.

Now, I have to go on a little bit more, make still more friends and be sure that my new friendships are here to stay.

One Goal leads to another 15 months ago

Yes, that’s it! It’s curious, but this is how it happens. For instance, I travel and I make new friends. I make sport and I also make new friends. And in reverse it works too! I make new friends, and I go out more often, and so on!

Friends will be friends 17 months ago

Deleuze is always talking about getting new experiences everyday to achieve happiness. And this is just what I’ll get when I get some new friends.

I’ll know that I did it when I found myself being able to make a weekend plan in the nick of time only by making some calls.
