OK this one isn’t always easy. Yesterday something really bummed me out at work. Normally, this would have just ruined my night and probably the next day as well. But I really worked to crush those feeling and look at the positives. It was so tempting to come home and be in a bad mood and ruin the evening for everyone around me, but I made an effort not to do that. OK I did have a glass of wine, but I also turned on a show I really enjoy and kept shoving down those hostile thoughts. I feel much better this morning and I’m going to try to have a great day in be in a good mood.

I’ve read that if you just smile, even a forced smile, it will put you in a better mood. I think it also works because if others see you smiling, they can’t help to smile back which reenforces that postive feeling. It’s worth a try.
