understand the stones

I got to see lots of amazing rocks this past weekend! On a last minute weekend trip to Las Vegas, I had a brilliant vision, and with some luck and convincing, ended up in Death Valley National Park. Can you say Woo Hoo? How ‘bout Yeeee-Haaaaw!!!!
I brought back some beautiful rocks – some composite, igneous, shale…red, yellow, green…it’s an amazing place because of the variety of things you can see. I only got one short day, but when I go back, I know I’ll be camping there so I can really soak it all in.

I picked up a Shiva Lingham stone at Evolution in SoHo this past spring. It is the most recent addition to my rock collection. They come from the Narmada River in India and they are supposed to help spiritual self-transformation. The two colors symbolize the duality of male and female sexuality and the stones are thought to increase fertility or bring balance – sounds kind of like the yin – yang principle…

I mean this in several different ways. Take it as you will.
