I’ve been searching Wikipedia for a project to join or some other way to contribute. I ran across the MiamiProject. I think I could be a great help with that especially since they are looking for pictures and I have tons.

The only problem is that I can’t seem to figure out how to join the project or download the pictures. I’m still reading, but it seems like it should be more straightforward since so many people are involved.

Anyway, I will keep trying!

Wikipedia is a much bigger endeavor than it first appears!

Last night I took some time to look around the site. It is a truly amazing thing they have there. Contributors, copy-editors, translators, standards for grammer, syntax and style. Mediation for contested information.

Once you are a member, you can volunteer for any of these things depending on your skills. People all over the world are participating in this.

Right now I’m just familiarizing myself with the site, but at some point I’ll go to the Community Portal and let the SuggestBot give me something to do!
