Things to do today:
Wean the colt –
I started and I feel heartless. He’s in a separate pasture from his mother. He’s with a mare who is not his mother. I pray she doesn’t beat up on him. Tonight when he doesn’t go in the stall with his mother is when it’s really going to be hard. When he looks at me with his big, incredibly beautiful brown eyes, I melt.
Grade papers –
I only have about six million to grade. Okay, it just seems that way. I see/have 90 students a day. So if I give just one assignment, that’s 90 papers. Argghhh. It seems hopeless.
Do laundry -
I won’t have anything to wear unless I get some laundry done.
The items above are priorities. Below are things that need to be done, but are not priorities right now.
Finish the dishes
Scrub the kitchen floor
Clean the bathrooms
Scrub the toilets
Vaccum the carpets

I dislike going to the grocery store so I’m procrastinating about going. I’ve got my list made, and I’m all ready to go. Now, all that remains is to put on my shoes and get in the car and go. I will go in 10 minutes—no more excuses!!!!!!!

- finish laundry / done
- put laundry away / done
- scrub kitchen and laundry room floor
- pick up family room
- dust all wood furniture / done
- vaccum bedroom / done
- empty dishwasher
- clean bathrooms
- go to the grocery store
That’s all for now. If I think of anything else, I’ll add it. I’m going to try setting the timer for 1 hour. I will not stop working for 1 hour. After 1 hour, I’ll take a ten minute break and then go back to work for another hour. If need be, reset, repeat until done.
Okay, one hour is up. I don’t feel like I’ve made much progress because I got sidetracked into sorting through some things and throwing some things away. I guess this isn’t all bad though because it needs to be done also.
10 minute break and then back to work.

I still have items on my to-do list for today to finish. It’s time to get them done!

It’s 8:18 on Sunday evening, and I haven’t done any grading. Arrgghh, this means I’ll have to stay tomorrow evening until 9:00. I don’t know how to stop procrastinating during the weekend. If I’d just start, I’d actually keep working. Once I start I’m okay. I was sick this weekend—sinus infection. That counts for something doesn’t it?
Well, here’s to all procrastinators everywhere.

Today I am grateful for
1. Stripping the horses’ stalls. Whew, lots of work, but the horses seemed so grateful when we put down the new bedding. They love to stand in it, then roll in it, and spread it around.
2. Going to get bedding. Loading it and unloading it, stacking it.
3. Getting something done even if it wasn’t a third of what I had planned.
4. My wonderful daughter who I miss so much. My wonderful daughter who is such a love and sweetheart.
5. Perhaps, only six more weeks of winter.
