Jack: Who has a sonic screwdriver?
The Doctor: I do!
Jack: Who looks at a screwdriver and thinks, ‘Ooo, this could be a little more sonic?’”
The Doctor: What, you’ve never been bored? Never had a long night? Never had a lot of cabinets to put up?

Rose: If you’re an alien, then how come you sound like you’re from the North?
The Doctor: Lots of planets have a North!

This is such a funny quote, ranks on my favourite Doctor Who quotes ;-)

The Doctor: See, there’s the thing. I’m the Doctor but beyond that… I-I just don’t know, I literally do not know who I am. It’s all untested. Am I funny? Am I sarcastic? Sexy? [winks at Rose] Right old misery? Life and Soul? Right-handed? Left-handed? A gambler? A fighter? A coward? A traitor? A liar? A nervous wreck? I mean, judging by the evidence I’ve certainly got a gob!

The words don’t do justice to what David Tennant did acting wise. I just saw the Sci Fi Channel promo for the Second Series and it included this brilliant quote. <3<3

Dear Felicity,
Here it goes. I watched you for four years, always wondered what you were like, and what was going on in your mind all that time when you were so quiet, just thinking. Drawing in your notebook. I should’ve just asked you, but I never asked you. So now, four years later, I don’t even know you. But I admire you. Well, that makes me sound crazy, but I’m okay with that. So take care of yourself.
Love,
Ben
P.S. I would’ve said, “Keep in touch,” but unfortunately, we were never in touch.

I know it’s highly unlikely, but I’m afraid there’s that cute boy at my school who has been thinking the same thing but never did anything about it. I fear I’ll find out and it’ll be too late. It kinda makes me want to be bold and be brave and not miss any opportunities.

Felicity: They say crash victims – people who lose a limb – that they can still feel their missing arm or leg, even after it’s gone. It’s called phantom pain, right? Well, suddenly, I had this horrible thought. What if high school went away but the feeling of it didn’t? I mean I didn’t feel joy… or sorrow… or anticipation. Things were going so well, but all I could feel was…. was dread.

I’m graduating soon and I’m so excited to finally leave, but I have that same underlying feeling; what if life after high school is just like high school? This says it better than I ever could.

Joey: [...]You’re so far removed from reality you can’t even see what’s right in front of you.
Dawson: What are you talking about?
Joey: Your life. It’s a freaking fairy tale and you don’t even know it.[...]Stop living in the movies. Grow up.

Jen: Why movies? What’s the attraction there?
Dawson: I reject reality.

Could this be any more like my life? I love television shows because I’m an escapist. I live through television and movies because life sucks. This quote is just so me it’s awesome.

Vala: There’s nothing to be gained by second-guessing yourself. You can’t remake the past. So look ahead… or risk being left behind. (leaves)
Bra’tac: She displays the wisdom of a battle-seasoned warrior.
Daniel: She’s a mother. Close enough.

Vala’s quote was brilliant. It’s one of those inspirational things that tend to be clichéd, unless done very well. This was done very well. I was dwelling, per usual and I heard that line and it struck me. It’s one of those things that transcend the show and genre and circumstance.

Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don’t learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying “yes” begins things. Saying “yes” is how things grow. Saying “yes” leads to knowledge. “Yes” is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say “yes.”
And that’s The Word. – Stephen Colbert | Knox College | June 3, 2006
When I first read this, I thought about myself. I am a cynic… I always thought it made me thoughtful and insightful, but he’s right. I’m just a kid, I can’t be “wise.” What good is cynicism? It hasn’t really served me, except for some clever quips in history class. I should really open my mind and maybe start having faith in people instead of ridiculing them.
