talk to strangers, all the time

1. drinking at a bar met some girls and chatted it up
2. waiter was waaay too friendly and talked too much and i wanted to eat – but chatted it up with him anyway, knowing if he felt cheated he might spit in my food or at least delay my order
3. talked to a bum on the street for 10 minutes about the vietnam war, homelessness, Generation X, and generalizations on the generations spanning this century. got yanked away from him by my cousin who thought i’d disappeared but found me.
4. talked to a new neighbor across the street.
5. talked to some people i never met at the company i work.
6. talked to 3 more girls i met in random places, such as CVS. verrrrry awkward. don’t recommend it to guys.
7. chatted with strangers on internet chat and via e-mail, one resulted in a phonecall. don’t recommend any of that, ‘cept the e-mail.

i stopped some girl the other night in a nice town, while i was out with a friend and asked her what the good restaurants were in the area. she smiled sheepishly and said she wasn’t from the area. we ended up getting pizza.
