Week 12: Santogold by Santogold – This is awesome. I’ve been totally dancing round my flat to this since I discovered it.
Week 13: Oracular Spectacular by MGMT – Fun, psychedelic indie stuff. But the album contains a few fillers.
Girl From Mars has written 9 entries about this goal
Week 10: Conor Oberst by Conor Oberst – Beautiful but then I love everything this guy does.
Week 11: Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks by Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks – Former Pavement front man, good old fashioned indie rock and roll.
Week 6: Seventh Tree by Goldfrapp – I still prefer Black Cherry but this was lovely and great for chilling out to.
Week 7: Real Life by Joan as Policewoman – Similar to Goldfrapp or Beth Orton. Lovely chill out music.
Week 8: Grinderman by Grinderman – Nick Cave sings (shouts?) dirty blues punk. Very cool.
Week 9: Noah and the Whale by Noah and the Whale – Fun hippy indie folk stuff. Great for the car.
Week 3: Third by Portishead – At first I didn’t like this as much as their other albums but a few listens later and its a definate grower.
Week 4: The Age of Understatment by Last of the Shadow Puppets – Alex Turner of the Artic Monkeys’ side project. I’m definately loving this. It’s like if the Artic Monkeys did James Bond Themes.
Week 5: We Started Nothing by The Ting Tings – Fun, shake your ass to, indie-pop. I like it.
as I’m in a bit of a music slump at the moment and one album a week might kick start my music interests again.
Week 1: The Gift by Sons and Daughters – Good old fashioned rock and roll from a local band. I like this.
Week 2: Radio Moscow by Radio Moscow – Very good. Like 70s Blues Rock. Sounds like Hendrix which is no bad thing.
I’m struggling to find any new bands to get into at the moment, so I’ve been listening to Jimmi Hendrix’s Greatest Hits lately.
i went to see The Go! Team in concert last night and they were blooming marvelous everyone should check them out here. The support was Caribou and The Suzan who were both good and I even got a signed copy of The Suzan’s album.
I have been listening to Amy Winehouse – Back to Black; New Young Pony Club – Fantastic Playground; and Kate Nash – Made of Bricks. The first two were really good especially Amy Winehouse but the Kate Nash one was awful. I mean I’m all for a song that tells a story but this went right down to the “he said then she said” stuff. Very boring and self indulgent.
Been listening to The White Stripes new album and its quite good. I’m finding it hard just now to get into new music. I just can’t relate to all this emo shite thats saturating the music channels just now…must be getting old lol
