Improve my French

This Winter, I didn’t have time in my schedule to take French Five. Instead, I found this site: http://ftew.libsyn.com/ which has French lessons via podcast, so I’ll be trying to stay in practice with that for the next few months until I can move to the next class.

This class is good so far, I just wish I were better about spreading out my homework; I tend to lump it all together the night before my class.

Also need to make an effort to find & use more resources, things like “look at a French news site daily” or “listen to French radio every few days at work” or “get easy-ish French books at the library & try to muddle through them.”

I’m a little more than halfway through French 3 for this quarter. So far, so good – I am remembering all about different past tenses. Summer quarter schedule hasn’t come out yet, but I plan on signing up for French 4 if it works with my schedule.

I noticed my favorite French teacher was teaching French 3 at BCC this quarter, so I signed up again. I have taken French 3 & French 4 as well, but haven’t taken any French classes in a year, so I thought I should go back one level for some reinforcement.

I realized I hadn’t done anything to move this goal along, so I did the most reasonable thing I could imagine. I bought a page-a-day French phrase calendar. Now I’m sure that by the end of the year, I will speak perfect & fluid French.
