buy my own car

Sigh! I’ve done it! Well I havn’t kept this updated but so I should let you know this I got my 2002 Chevy Blazer w/no co-signer; age 19. YAY! $7,800. Although, I think that sometimes I could do w/o the cost of having it. I think it costed me more to NOT have a vehicle. And the freedom??! I love it all! :)

Well, for the first time today I made a deposit (not a withdrawl) of $27.oo that I had just lying around. (Hey, it’s a start!)

I’ve come up with a plan that may help me. I sat down and tried thinking of ways to tackle this goal and here’s what I came up with. I wrote down a list of 73 major parts of the BMW (ex: rear view mirror, Front headlights, 4 sets of keys, ect.) and estimated the price of the particular part but so that it still equalled the total price of the car. Therefore, if I make $120.oo here and $50.oo there I can mark of any item on the list to make it appear that I “own” that specific part of the car and that should keep me going on this! This is why I beleive that this plan will make me sucessfull… Why do people so easily by shirts, CD’s, ect.?? Because it’s easier to make it to “that goal”. As humans, we are more prone to buy something if it’s easier to save up for it. It’s easier to buy “fog lights” to a car then it is to buy the car.

Well, after 2 weeks of intense decision making, I’ve come up with this: A:If I’m saving up for it, It should be exacly what I want, B:It should be realistic / fit my personality / but stay under $14,000 and C:The closest to all this in a 1999 BMW 528i. I found one for sale down by Detroit for $13,990. Now I know that I won’t be able to but this for quite some time but I figure that I needed something to shoot for and, in the future, I will be able to find the car again for that price.
