I think the closest I’ve come to doing the splits is about 6 inches off the ground right now. I feel like it gets harder the closer I come to the ground. I want to just let myself slide down the way I used to in high school, but if I really did that, I’d tear something.
While I was sitting in a straddle the other day I reached for the remote the other day and it was just a little too far. I’m still sore. It hurts to reach over and touch my toes, when usually I can put the back on my fingers on the ground, even first thing in the morning. I woke up this morning in a stiff little ball instead of my usual sprawled mess and had to creak my legs open. I have been doing more yoga more faithfully since I took up this goal, but I’m not there yet…
