Finishing “Oranges are not the only fruit” by Jeanette Winterson, which is a MAGNIFICENT book.
Starting Kafka and “Mrs Dalloway” by Virginia Woolf.
And probably also “Slam” by Nick Hornby.

From my huge summer’s compulsory reading list I’m actually just finishing my FIRST book. Bear in mind that one month of summer is already over. :P Well, I did read a non-compulsory book, Harriet Beecher Stowe’s “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. I thought it was absolutely moving. And now I’m about to finish Bulgakov’s “Master and Margarita”, another amazing book by a Russian author. Continuing on the Russian literature line, the next is probably going to be Lermontov’s “The Hero of Our Time”.
I just discovered that if I want to read EVERYTHING that’s on my summer compulsory reading list then I would have to read every book with 3,5 days. :D That’s kinda creepy. :D
Well.
Done with French realists and naturalists for this time. Done with Ibsen and Strindber also.
Next up – Russian classics – Dostojevski’s “Idiot” and Tolstoi’s “Anna Karenina”.
For the school’s compulsory reading, I have mastered Old Goriot by Balzac. Now I have to finish Madame Bovary. But the thing is, I started to think maybe it would be easier to actually MAKE a list of the books I have to/want to read. :D
I’m afraid there’s like.. 40+ books on the list. And it keeps growing, not decreasing. from now on, I’m gonna start carrying a book with me all the time.
