Hike more

We’ve been having some awesome weather lately and the forecast is calling for clouds and rain coming in a few days so I decided to blow off work and go for a hike. It was a Tuesday and I went by myself. I hiked in to Grand Park which is this awesome huge meadow right at the base of Mount Rainier, I did about 10 miles total roundtrip. It was awesome, blue skies, sunshine, warm in the sunshine, cool in the shade, I saw three people all day long, it was so quiet! So much better than work!

Went on an overnighter to Snow Lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area SE of Leavenworth WA. We’d intended a two nighter with a day hike into the Upper Enchantment Lakes Basin, but got rained out and hiked back out the second day. It was long, 7 miles each way, with 4000ft elevation gain on the way in, lots and lots of switchbacks. My legs are sore!
I’m thinking of concentrating more on day-hikes!

Just returned from a great trip to Glacier! Hiked the Sun Point trail along St. Mary Lake to St. Mary Falls and Virginia Falls the first day (5 miles round trip), hiked from Swiftcurrent MotorLodge to Iceberg Lake the second day (10 miles round trip). Did a short hike from Bowman Lake up the Upper Quartz Lake Trail on day 4 (3 miles round trip), and did the Numa Ridge Lookout hike from Bowman Lake on day 5 (12 miles round trip 3000ft elevation gain).
Great weather and beautiful scenery.

Leaving on Thursday August 4th for a vacation in Montana to do some camping at hiking in Glacier Park, I plan to do a hike to St.Mary Falls near the Rising Sun campground, the Iceberg Lake hike in the Many Glacier Valley, and a couple hikes near Bowman Lake on the west side.
Not sure if this qualifies as “more hiking” or not, since I did a similar trip last year I guess its just “hiking” and not “more hiking”
