Back on the bandwagon 11 months ago

So, I got myself down to 205 (from 270). Then, I went to Italy. I came back at 207. And then I went to Kansas City for a week and came back out of the flow.

It has been a series of fits and starts since then.

At any rate, today is day 25 for me. I started on January 2nd at 235 (I kept 35 lbs off for 2 years… yeah me!). I have been on my diet plan (not more or less… ON my diet plan) for 25 consecutive days. And I weighed in this AM at 224. So, it’s working.

The amazing thing for me is this:
When you work your program (assuming you have a good one… I believe Protein Power is close to optimal), the program works. When you are non-commital, and flaky, your results are the same.

First Goal 2 years ago

Today, I am down 49.5 lbs, and definitely below 19% bodyfat by my calculations. That was the first goal. According to the guidelines, I am at the upper limit of healthy average for a man my age. And that’s a good feeling. A very good feeling.

So, what do you do when you get a goal. You set another one. Me, I want to lose another 4% bodyfat for my next goal, and get down to 15%, the middle of the range of healthy average males, age 31-39. Right now, that’s looking like another 10 lbs or so. Seems small, but I’m guessing they get harder as you have less to lose.

But at any rate, I’m at goal #1. It’s sweet enough to be diabetic.

Progress to date 2 years ago

On august 20th, 2006, I weighed 264.5 lbs on my scale. This was the day that I started Protein Power Life Plan.

I have not been entirely monkish in my discipline, but, aside from a week with my in-laws, I have not had consecutive off plan days.

I have also added resistance and interval training 3-5 days a week, sometime in November, and have been fairly good about that. If work is closed, I don’t work out (I work out at the work gym). If we have a day off, same deal. And it throws the schedule into chaos for the rest of the week.

At any rate, as of today, I weigh 219.5 lbs. That’s 45 lbs for those tracking at home. I am coming in towards my first goal of being 19% bodyfat (I was 34% when I started, about 20-21% now).

Almost there. But, like I said, it’s a first goal. When I get to that, need to work up a new goal (thinking 15% bodyfat). I figured I would reevaluate once I got here, and I am. 20% bf is still soft in places. A lot of places. It’s a lot less soft than 34%, but I’d like to be more defined. So, less fat still.

Rocking it hard core.
