The Job...

I used to have was how can I say it nicely?
a horrendously bad fit for who I am, what I am, and what I believe in strongly and using my experience/skills! It was without a doubt the worst job I’ve ever ‘endured’. Yep endure is the word I’d use! And NO one should need to endure a job, not to my mind.

Fast forward: I have a new job with the same organization, and start my first day tomorrow.. I am hoping it is a better fit for me.. praying in fact, and I’m going to try hard to make it ‘my own’. I’m not one to fit into a very structured, paramilitary type position (I’ve learned that the hard way!!) that has absolutely NO room for new ideas, and new ways of doing things…

This new position may allow me some freedom to do things – my way – oh gosh I hope so! Otherwise it may be time to search for that ‘dream job’ or to ‘create it’!

Here’s hoping!

I had a job I loved...

and now this position I have is just not cutting it.

I have to either deal with it, and grow ‘into’ it… or
say no this job is just NOT me, and seek out a position that I will love..

what to do, what to do??

I meet with my manager tomorrow about issues I’m having and it is not going to be an easy day.

I'm almost there!

So far, I love the people, with which I work, love the atmosphere, and the work I do. Now that I’ve been with the company a couple of months, I find I am ‘making’ the job my own, and am being noticed!

I’ve had thus far positive feedback which is awesome to receive. I haven’t had that in previous positions I’ve been in.

I also am given opportunities for courses, workshops, etc, and whoo boy I am taking part in each and every single one that I can!

Yep I love my job! The only sad thing about that is, I’m in a term job, that ends in one year’s time.

I’m sure with the courses and workshops, etc I participate will help me land another position!

Progress!

I am learning so much at my new job, the people have been amazingly supportive, and my supervisor surprised me last week with the comment: “We are so glad that you are a part of this team”.

What is nice, my supervisor has listened to some of my ideas for some improvements I plan on making in specific areas, and has stated: “I’d love to meet with you to hear more of your ideas!!!”
In fact she has scheduled a meeting in the new year to do just that!

How damned cool is that?!!!

Started a new job!

I don’t know yet if I love it, but we will see. It is too early to tell, as I only started two weeks ago, and so much will be determined.

I am so grateful to have this job!! With the economy as it is these days, it is a fantastic thing to even have a job!

I put forth a lot of effort in getting this particular job. Many resumes were sent out, I asked for and took advice from former colleagues, revising of the cover letter/resume, and practicing my interview skills. I did it all and then some to land this job!

It has creativity, incorporates writing/design, so it could very well LEAD me to my dream job, as this is a contract job for a one year period.

It is better than not having a job, and I am committed in doing my very best at this job, and attending all courses, workshops, EAGERLY!!!!

Cheers!
