My kids and I are doing Proverbs through the remainder of the year, but we finished July’s and it was great! We took one chapter a day and wrote down 5 things of God’s wisdom and 5 things that we were challenged of foolishness that is still in our lives that we want to cease doing.

Living In God's Exquisite, Miraculous Sufficiency has written 2 entries about this goal
Since I have been lacking wisdom in parenting and that has been distressing me, the Holy Spirit told me (put the thought in my head . . .. He did not audible speak to me, as I’ve never audibly heard the voice of God, but thoughts pop into my head which I know do not come from me, and they line up with the Bible.) to go to the book of Proverbs to gain wisdom and guidance.
I’ve done the reading Proverbs daily in the past, but it’s been probably a couple years, so it’s time to do this again for the next 6 months.
Additionally, my kids are doing this, too. They are each doing their own quiet time, which we’ve always done family quiet time w/the Lord. Now, after having read through the Bible a couple times, knowing Jesus as their Savior for 3-4 yrs each kid, growing up in church, it’s time they learned how to do their own quiet time.
Daily, we keep a notebook/journal of 5 things God is personally speaking to us about regarding wisdom that needs to be integrated into our lives and foolish things we need to turn over to God.
We do this first thing in the morning, so we have all day to meditate on Proverbs. Truthfully, sometimes I totally forget all that I read, but if there is a day that I will remember 1 or 2, that is awesome. That is 1 or 2 things that drew me closer to God.
Even if it was only a couple days that month that I actually meditated throughout the day on what I learned & read, it’s still more than nothing. Maybe next month there will be a couple more days and at the end of 6 months, maybe half the month I’ll accomplish meditating on God’s Word throughout the day.
It’s not about perfection, but a journey we are on that is step by step.
