Back in August some friends and I started Women in Black in Fredericton. We have stood in vigil almost every other Friday since then. I have now gotten involved with the Fredericton Peace Coalition. We are speaking out against the current deployment of troops in Afghanistan. I feel grassroots political action is the way to go!!

I have been meaning to post about this for a while. Back in August a group of friends and I started a Women in Black group. We have been standing in vigil every second Friday on one of the busiest street corners in Fredericton. The response of the public has been very positive. Hopefully we will get more people joining us. This is the first political action I have ever taken. It has made me feel far less powerless.
Well New Brunswick had it’s election a few weeks back and as always I voted. That is one thing I am very religious about. I never miss voting in a provincilal or federal election.
Well it looks like New Brunswickers might be going to the polls very soon, so here is another opportunity for me to get out there and get involved politically. Lets see if I can!
Well, haven’t had any time to volunteer with this, but most certainly will get out and vote. Haven’t missed a provencial or federal election since I was of age to vote. Of course the issue this time round is do you vote for the devil you know or the devil you don’t know! Or do I vote for the Green Party, who doesn’t stand a chance in the riding I am in. Lots to think about thats for sure.
I have voted in every provincial and federal election since I have been of age to vote. I have not every joined a political party. I am going to research my favourite parties here in New Brunswick on both a federal and provincial level as there is both types of elections due in the near future. Will pick one to volunteer with come election time.
