Volunteer

I am still tutoring my friend from Libya, I also have had another student from Iran. She is a lady my age who is an absolute delight. I really like her. Unfortunetly she has now moved to Vancouver and I will only see her every few months when she comes back to Fredericton. In September I started volunteering with a local group that teaches English to immigrant women. It is so much fun. The women are really enthusiastic about learning. We have women from Korea, Chile, Cuba, Columbia and Libya. I am hoping my student from Libya will joing. She would find it very helpful.

I am tutoring my friend from Libiya every Saturday now. I am really enjoying it and learning as much as she is. Some days we meet at her home and other days we go to the library. She is doing so well. She is taking an English class at UNB so we spend our time together in conversation and reading. She is getting so much better at both!

I am volunteering with Laubach Literacy and I have a student to whom I am teaching English. She is from Libya and is a delight to teach. We have had 2 lessons and I am thoroughly enjoying myself.

Picked an organization to work with, Laubach Literacy. This is an organization that teaches adults how to read. Took their training, had my police check done and am now waiting for a student. I am really looking forward to doing this!
