read, read, and read some more

Life really screws you up sometimes. It’s been a long time since I even thought about this as a goal.

I’ve got some spare time now, and I’m going to try to get back to it with Atlas Shrugged, Kavalier and Clay and others…

I know a lot of people are working toward 50 books read in 2007, but I have a feeling this is going to be a big year for me.

I am going to leave Michigan behind, something I’ve been trying to do since adolescence.

So I deserve to cut myself a little slack, and I very much doubt I’ll get 50 books in, unless they’re really short books.

Finished The Princess Bride last night. Now just finish Reinventing Comics and we’re good to go with new books!

I’ve put myself on a schedule. This week I hope to finish the books I had started before I set this goal. Since they’re not heavy reading and I got the better part of cleaning my room done (top priority) I’m hoping it’ll happen.

Next week I start on Ariadne’s Thread and The Ball and the Cross. Always wanted to read Chesterton…

I’ve been spending so much time on my other goals (cooking, saving money, etc) I haven’t had a lot of time to sit down and start consuming… sigh
