...I went and bought myself a new pair of running shoes at the weekend. The old ones had to be consigned to the bin – I saw an army physiotherapist in September and he said that running shoes should be thrown away after either 500 miles or three months (which sounds a bit harsh).
Anyway, on buying the shoes I was told that I had one leg slightly longer than the other and that it should be corrected before I injure myself further. Apparently it’s quite common, so they were able to give me an insole to wear in the right shoe to prevent any further trouble.
It sounds trivial, but I’m glad to be getting things like this out of the way before I do myself some harm.
