start my own business (one that's green & ethical)

I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do before jumping into working for myself full-time, and it’s a pretty long process. Especially since I want to do it right the first time. So I’m saving, reading, and building up clients that I do freelance work for. One of these days I’ll just have to take the leap and turn the VW grease-bus into a mobile design studio. :)

This is a long-term goal. I figure I should work for someone else for a while and see how it’s done. But eventually I’d like to start my own design firm, one where I can pick the clients (definitely no Nike or Exxon!) and control all aspects of the business. It will be as eco-friendly as possible (maybe run by solar energy!) and focus on sustainability and the triple bottom line: people, planet, and then profit.
