It’s a slow form of yoga where you hold poses for 3-5 minutes so that you stretch the connective tissue rather than just muscle. I find that it’s like a meditation. You move into a dreamlike state and time just slows right down. That’s why Yin Yoga is fantastic for anxiety. I just need to do more of it!!!
PLEASE NOTE: Yin Yoga (on its own) is probably not a good form of yoga for people who are depressed. If you’re depressed, you should do (or combine Yin Yoga with) more active forms of yoga like astanga.
