Technically I guess I’d have to say I’ve altered a book before, since I can remember as a child folding page after page a specific way to finally make a freestanding angel…but it’s just not the same thing really. And I don’t count the books I helped my Cub Scouts alter as centerpieces-theme Jungle Book-we used construction paper to make it appear as though the jungle was bursting from between the pages. Snakes, leaves, etc.
I haven’t settled on my new years’ plans yet, but I’ve been toying with the idea for a while of REALLY altering a book—reading, talking with other artists about it, looking at their work and at what I can find on the net. I think this might end up on my list of things to do this year.
