With the assistance of sleeping pills, my body has finally gotten used to going to bed at a reasonable hour :-) I still wake up in the middle of the night, but not as often and sometimes not at all. I feel so much better in the morning and I don’t have a need to use my Snooze button anymore. The sleeping pills were supposed to help me get my sleeping schedule back on track and in which I have succeeded. FINALLY!!!!

So my doctor diagnosed me with insomnia and put me on Ambien. The medication worked great during the first week, but I think my body is still refusing to stay asleep at night. I am still waking in the middle of the night!! Either I have to get up and use the bathroom or I just roll over just to look at the clock. It takes me a little bit less time to fall asleep, but darnit I still can’t seem to stay asleep. Arghhh!!!!
For the record:
On the very first night I started Ambien, I fell asleep faster, stayed asleep all night long and woke up feeling super refreshed than I have ever felt in my life. I was hopeful that I had found a fix for my severe sleeping problem. Now, I’m not so hopeful :-(
The good news is that I’m getting more sleep at night :-)
The bad news is that I’ve started taking sleeping pills. I frustratingly talked to my doctor about my poor sleeping habits that I just couldn’t seem to break. The sleeping pills (Ambien) is supposed to help me get my sleeping habits on track. He said the trick to not becoming dependent on sleep medication, is to not take them every night. I just started the medication last night and saw a big improvement on how well I slept. Who knows if I’ll become dependent on them yet but I am glad I have started taking the medication. I really had no other choice because I have tried everything to get more sleep but nothing helped me. My doctor diagnosed me with INSOMNIA and agreed that I needed some kind of sleep agent. I would only recommend I sleep agent for people with special cases, like mine. Although it’s only been 1 night since I’ve taken the pills, I have no regrets!
I go to bed around 11:30pm and fall asleep within 15-20 mins. I wake up feeling underrested (as usual), but I have breakfast. I go work feeling bright-eyed bushy tailed and chipper. I even sat at my desk and hummmed a song at 7am in the morning. What the heck is this all about? I didn’t do anything special last night. I didn’t even have my usual cup of chamomile tea that noght. Nothing special happened that day. I still went to bed late and woke up feeling tired, but I after breakfast I felt chipper. I’ve had breakfast before going to work before but it never seemed to have altered my morning mood. Something was different this morning and by gawd I cannot figure it out. Anyway, just wanted share my story. I’m having a great day :-)
Okay so I’m realizing that my problem is not with being able to relax. My problem is that it’s taking 1-2 hours before my body decides to drift off to sleep. And after falling asleep, I do not stay asleep. Guys I can’t begin to tell you how restless and tired I feel in the morning. I’m getting quite familiar with the Snooze button! I need help…but I don’t think music and exercise will help. I can relax and feel sleepy just fine, the problem is getting me to FALL ASLEEP! My body tells me to go to bed but when I do, it takes about an hour for me to fall asleep.
The only thing I have not tried is exercise and relaxing music. Nothing else seems to work, but the tea helps alittle bit. Other than that, i’m getting pretty frustrated with this goal. Still taking me 1 to 2 hours to fall asleep and i’m still not getting enough sleep. I’ll consider music and exercise and sleeping pills will be a last resort!!
Last night was my first time tasting chamomille tea. I read on the internet that chamomille tea is good for relaxing the body and help making you sleep. I don’t know if it worked or not, but I fell asleep faster (but of course I didn’t stay asleep through the night). The reason why I’m not sure if it worked, is because I was already relaxed and sleepy before even drinking the tea. I drank the tea for assurance that I would fall asleep faster. And I did. I’ll see if the tea works again next time.
Well, I fell asleep faster last night. It took a whole what, 20 mins. Much better than tossing for an hour or 2. I turned the tv on, and turned it right back off because my eyes were hurting. I think I went to bed around 11pm. Still woke up tired in the morning, but I’m glad for falling asleep faster. I think it was because of the rain last night. It rained all night….heavily!!! I think I woke up once during the night for my usual bathroom run. Other than that, I slept a tad bit better. I blame it on the rain.
I felt sleepy so went to bed at 10:00-10:30pm. Didn’t fall asleep until 12am or later. I have to get up around 5am. What’s wrong with me and why do I keep doing this? How could one feel sleepy but doesn’t fall asleep until 2 hours later?!? Even after falling asleep, I woke up 2 times in the middle of the night. I am so frustrated and tired in the morning :-( My body just won’t shut off at night!!!!!!!!
Went to bed between 11:00-11:30pm. Woke up at 2am, used bathroom. Woke up again at 4am and rolled over. Had to get up and 5:30am to get ready for work. I cannot ever seem to stay asleep anight!! Who wakes up every 2 hours? I think I have a more severe problem but I don’t know what or where to start. I was so friggin’ TIRED this morning. I even started drinking coffee…..I HATE COFFEE!!! I’m almost feeling desparate to try to resolve this sleeping problem.
